We seek to nurture a love of learning. We want our children to have a wide and varied curriculum , which is delivered in a way that is vibrant, dynamic and remains with the children for the rest of their lives. It is essential that we equip the children with transferable life skills that they can use inside and outside of school. Our curriculum empowers our children to think critically, ask questions and challenge those around them. Our curriculum is ambitious and ever evolving. We embrace a collaborative approach with external organisations such as CAFOD and Eco-Schools and the other schools in our Multi Academy Trust to ensure that our learners have the best opportunities to enable them to have the best possible life chances.
At St John's of Beverley, we follow the National Curriculum. For more information about the core and foundation subjects and how we deliver them at our school, please click on the menu to find out more about our subjects for precise year information.
Our school offers children a broad and balanced curriculum and considers the teaching of the foundation subjects, including the Arts, vitally important. Over the year, as well as the normal curriculum, we have planned in extra personal development days for the children to have additional opportunities to explore the wider curriculum and all it has to offer.

RSE curriculum
Ten Ten’s new programme for Catholic primary schools, Life to the Full, will teach Relationships Education and Health Education within the context of a Christian understanding of human sexuality rooted in the wisdom and teaching of the Catholic Church.
Given that RHE (Relationships and Health Education) became a statutory subject for all schools from September 2020, we are embracing “the challenges of creating a happy and successful adult life” by giving pupils knowledge “that will enable them to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships” (DFE Statutory Guidance).
We will deliver this teaching through the prism of Catholic RSHE. The framework of our programme is taken from the Model Catholic RSE Programme by the Catholic Education Service, which has been highlighted by the Department of Education as a work of good practice.
A Parental Consultation took place in September 2020 before the school began using this scheme. If you would like to add your views please click on this link. https://forms.gle/Fv45dbDNrJgcv7v4A
